Owen and Putnam County's Hidden Jewel
Owen and Putnam County's Hidden Jewel
This lake was created in 1952 as a flood control reservoir for Southern Indiana. At summer pool it reaches 1400 acres and is famous (or infamous) for flooding.
Take a kayak to beautiful Cataract Falls, Indiana's largest waterfall. Take a pontoon ride to the dam for an afternoon swim in calm waters. Take the kids to the beach at the park.
The lake permits any size boat for recreation on the lake. The north end is fantastic for tubing and skiing. The south end, in an idle zone, is ideal for kayaking and canoeing.
